Christmas can be both an amazing time of year and a super stressful one as we rush around trying to make everything “perfect”.
Most of us have visions in our head of how things should be and this applies to life more generally, not just Christmas. We have specific ideas about the kind of person and parent we want to be, the lifestyle we want to lead, the home we aspire to have, the kind of body we should have, etc.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting that having goals is a bad thing, not in the slightest. Just that if all of your focus is on an end result, you sometimes forget to enjoy the journey. And you can be left feeling frustrated / angry / upset if it doesn’t go entirely according to plan. Which to be honest is life most of the time.
Your attitude is what’s key. Be kind and patient with yourself and make the journey your focus – one of enjoyment and growth. The way you walk the path is just as important as where it leads.
